General Questions

EAN will host its annual congress in Helsinki, Finland from 21-24 June 2025. However, content and features of the EAN Congress 2025 as well as voting and polling will also be available for participants joining virtually via our Virtual Congress Platform.

Certainly, the EAN Congress 2025 will be live streamed from 21-24 June 2025, aligning with the timing of the congress taking place onsite.

The content will remain available on-demand to all congress ticket holders from 21 June 2025 until 8 July 2025.

From 8 July 2025 onwards, it will only be available for EAN individual members (Fellows of EANFullCorrespondingResident & Research and Student).

You can have a look at the congress programme via our Programme Planner and even on the Virtual Congress Platform which contains the webcasts of last year’s EAN Congress until 2 months before the upcoming congress. However, at the moment, we are still working on the congress programme. Once it becomes available, the link to the Programme Planner will be provided here on this page.

Rest assured that all session livestreams will be transformed into on-demand lecture webcasts only on the EAN Virtual Congress Platform (www.eanvirtualcongress.org) within 24 hours after the session concludes.

To participate in the virtual congress, you will require a stable internet connection, your computer/laptop, a headset/headphone, and a valid registration linked to your MyEAN account.

Note that an onsite registration also includes access to the virtual congress.

EAN booth will be available both onsite and on the Virtual Congress Platform.

EAN organises business meetings for every EAN Scientific Panel. Further information and invitations will be provided by the EAN Scientific Department directly to all panel members as soon as possible.

A smartphone is essential for accessing the full range of features offered by the EAN Congress including voting, polling, Q&A, and evaluation for certificates.

Educational activities

Yes, and as of this year, EAN will have two different styles of Hand-on Courses: the classical one with demonstration stations, and one where participants work on digital programmes using their own computer.

“Classic” Hands-on Courses (HoCs) take place in a dedicated HoC Room with workstations for smaller groups who attend parallel by rotating to each presenter of the course.

Live demonstrations with screening machines and/or diagnostic programmes are the core of these courses.

These Hands-on Courses are NOT included in the registration fee. Each Hands-on Course is limited to 60 participants and on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you wish to participate, tickets can be purchased during the registration process as an additional session or onsite, if still available, at the Self-Registration Desk for a fee of €50.

“Bring your own computerHoCs are also in a dedicated room with tables and power outlets. Participants need to bring their own computer (not touchpad), mouse, and power supply cable. One of the presenters demonstrates the access of the programme, and the speakers of the session will then start their live demonstration where participants can follow and make their own experience.

These courses are FREE of charge and included in the registration fee, and handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

IMPORTANT: All HoC sessions are only available at the congress onsite and will neither be livestreamed nor recorded.

Yes, and Case-based Workshops (CbWs) take place in a dedicated CbW room with workstations for smaller groups and are facilitated by experts in the field.

Case-based Workshops are included in the registration fee. Each Case-based Workshop is limited to 60 participants and on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you wish to participate, you may proceed directly to the session room. We recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to the session.

IMPORTANT: CbW sessions are only available at the congress onsite and will neither be livestreamed nor recorded.

These sessions (IaS) are held live and are open for all participants. Presenters show patient cases and ask the audience to actively participate in the process. Through an interactive voting system via your smart phone, the opinions of participants will be collected, displayed and discussed immediately.

Brain Challenge is an interactive learning session in a format of quiz questions. Two teams, a local team and an international team, will compete against each other to win the Brain Challenge by providing the correct answer to 16 case presentations. The audience can silently participate via an interactive voting system on their smartphone. The results will be displayed after each case.

Abstract Submission & ePosters, ePresentations

Our technical provider will invite you to upload your pre-recorded presentation via a personalised link. Carefully observe and follow the instructions given. Note that the corresponding abstract presenters must be registered for the congress. Accepted abstracts will be published in the European Journal of Neurology. Not registering in time risks the omission of your accepted abstract from the Congress Programme.

Yes, the presenting author must complete congress registration. Note that the registration deadline for abstract presenters falls on the same day as the early registration deadline (16 April 2025). Not registering in time risks the omission of your accepted abstract from publication in the European Journal of Neurology.

The EAN 2025 Congress Abstract Book will be published online once the embargo on all accepted abstracts is lifted. Please note that there will be no printed version of the abstract book available in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.

The abstract book can also be found on the EAN Virtual Congress platform as an online supplement to the European Journal of Neurology.

Please note that the embargo on all abstracts will be lifted officially on Friday 20 June 2025 at 18:30 EEST. This is when the European Journal of Neurology will release all accepted abstracts on the EAN Congress website and the publisher’s website.

If you would like to withdraw your abstract, contact abstracts@ean.org as soon as possible. Withdraw your abstract from the abstract book until 16 March 2025 at the latest.

You can also withdraw from the online database by logging in to your MyEAN account, selecting the abstract, and clicking the withdraw option on the right side.

Registration

If you haven’t already, create a MyEAN account and provide correct and updated information for your profile. If the registration is open, then log in to your account and go to ‘Events’ to begin.

If you wish to become an EAN Individual Member and benefit from reduced registration fees, please use the Membership Finder to find out the most suitable membership type for you.

Submit your complete membership application via your MyEAN account and await approval of your membership. Please be aware that this may take up to 10 working days. Once approved, you can start your congress registration and benefit from the reduced member registration fees.

If you are going to apply for membership or have already applied and are waiting for your membership to be approved, please wait until your membership application is approved before you register for the congress.

Please log in to your MyEAN account. Then, click ‘Events’, ‘My Registrations’ and on the upcoming congress. In the top right corner, click on the Make Payment button and select your preferred payment method to complete your registration.

If you can only see ‘Group Registration’, this may be because you have already initiated an individual registration, but your existing registration is not yet complete.

To check, please log in to your MyEAN account. Then, click ‘Events’ and ‘My Registrations’. On the same line which shows the upcoming congress, you should be able to see the payment status of your order. If it shows ‘Paid’, your registration is complete. If ‘Pending’ is shown, click on it to proceed with the payment. If ‘Group’ is shown under registration type, then a third party tried to/has already registered you.

If you are going to be registered by someone else, please make sure you have a MyEAN account and update your personal information on your profile. Your name, city, country and prescriber status will be displayed on your congress badge; therefore, we kindly ask you to make sure that these pieces of information are correct.

Once updated, please provide your registering person your email address which is linked to your MyEAN account.

As a registering person, you will need your own MyEAN account. Please create an account using your own name and email address. In addition to your own MyEAN account, please make sure all your participants have their own MyEAN account as well as they will eventually need one. If they already do or once they have created an account, all you need is their email address which is linked to their MyEAN account.

Please note that it’s very crucial for each participant to have a MyEAN account so that they are able to receive their QR code for badge printing, evaluate sessions, receive certificates and CME credits and access on-demand session webcasts.

We kindly ask you not to create an account with your own email address but with the name of your participant as this will prevent your participant from having access to the virtual platform.

As a registering person/group leader, if not all your participants have a MyEAN account, you may purchase a group ticket for the price of €872 by 16 April 2025, €979 between 17 April-6 June 2025 and €1,104 after 6 June 2025 for onsite participation. A group virtual interactive ticket is €314. There is no minimum number of tickets for a group while the maximum is 150 per group. If you need more than 150 tickets, feel free to create another group.

You will need to allocate these tickets to your participants. Please log in to your MyEAN account, click ‘Events’ and ‘My Registrations’, and select your group under ‘My Registered Groups’ for the upcoming congress. Now, enter your participants’ email addresses to add them to your group.

Please note that the email address you enter must be linked to the participant’s MyEAN account. Otherwise, the system will not be able to recognise it as MyEAN user’s email address.

Discount codes are available for individual registrations only and NOT for group registrations.

During the registration process, you will be asked to enter a billing address. If the address differs from your contact information, please select an alternative billing address and insert the information of the third party.

Please log in to your MyEAN account. Then, click ‘Events’ and ‘My Registrations’. Then, you should see the payment status of your registration: pending or paid. Then, click on the upcoming congress. If successfully registered, you will be able to see your registration type as well as your badge retrieval method in case your registration is an onsite registration.

Please log in to your MyEAN account. Then, click ‘Events’, ‘My Registrations’ and on the upcoming congress. If the field Badge Retrieval is blank, then you are registered for the virtual congress. If this field says either Pre-Print by EAN or Onsite Print, then you are registered for the onsite congress.

It’s possible that you may have more than one MyEAN account. Please check if your account you are logged in to is the account with valid EAN membership. If you would like your accounts merged, contact registration@ean.org.

To be eligible for a student ticket, you must have active EAN student membership. Otherwise, the student ticket is not available to you.

A visa letter can be requested only upon paid registration. If needed, you can request for one via your MyEAN account. Please log in and click ‘Events’ and ‘My Registrations’ Then, click on the upcoming congress. On the next page, click on the button ‘Request Visa Letter’.

Note that some sessions might be taking place at the same time and are therefore mutually exclusive. In that case, only one of these sessions can be selected and the rest will be greyed out. In other words, if one of these sessions is already chosen, the others cannot be selected.

Additional sessions are only available to those with an onsite congress registration. In case you have registered with a virtual interactive ticket, there are no sessions shown as these are not available to those attending virtually.

Please note that additional sessions can only be selected on an individual basis; a group leader cannot purchase these sessions on behalf of their delegates.

In case you would like to upgrade your previously purchased virtual interactive registration to an onsite registration, please contact registration(at)ean.org indicating your order number (O-R-######).

Please note that an onsite registration already includes virtual interactive access and cannot be changed to a virtual interactive ticket!

If you become a member of EAN after you have registered for the congress, please note that a partial refund for such a case is not possible.

Provided that you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from an order within 14 days without giving any reason by law. EAN will refund the full registration fee.
