EAN hybrid congress
EAN will host its annual congress in Budapest from 01 – 04 July 2023. Furthermore, content and features of the EAN Congress 2023 will be available for participants joining virtually, including voting, polling, etc. via the Virtual Congress Platform.
Yes, the EAN Congress 2023 will be live streamed from 01 – 04 July 2023 at similar times as the congress is planned onsite.
For all participants, who do have a ticket for the congress, the content will be available until 18 July 2023.
From 19 July 2023 onwards it will only be available for EAN Individual members (Fellows of EAN, Full, Corresponding, Resident & Research and Student members)
All session's and lecture's livestreams are available on-demand on the EAN Virtual Congress Platform(www.eanvirtualcongress.org) immediately after session ending.
To attend the online congress, you need a good internet connection, your computer/laptop, and a headset/headphone as well as a valid registration.
EAN will have a booth onsite and on the Virtual Congress Platform.
EAN is organising a business meeting for every EAN Scientific Panel. Further information and invitations will be provided by the Scientific Department to all panel members as soon as possible.
A smart phone is required to have access to all features the EAN Congress offers, like voting, polling, Q&A, and evaluation (certificates).
Educational activities, abstracts & posters
Our technical provider will invite you to upload your pre-recorded presentation. Carefully observe the given instructions. Accepted abstracts will be published in the European Journal of Neurology, given abstract presenters must be registered to the congress. Not registering in time risks omission of your accepted abstract from the Congress Programme.
Yes, the presenting author must complete congress registration. The registration deadline for abstract presenters is 26 April 2023 . Not registering in time risks omission of your accepted abstract from the Congress Programme.
The Abstract Book 2023 will be published online once the embargo on all accepted abstracts is lifted. Please note that there will be no printed abstract book available, in the effort to reduce our carbon footprint. The abstracts can be found on the EAN Virtual Congress platform, as online supplement to the European Journal of Neurology.
Please note that the embargo on all abstracts will be lifted officially on Friday, 30 June 2023, 18:30 CEST . This is when the European Journal of Neurology will release all accepted abstracts on the EAN Congress website and the publisher’s website.
Hands-on Courses (HoC) will take place in a dedicated HoC-Room with workstations for smaller groups who attend parallel by rotating to each presenter of the course. Live demonstrations with screening machines and /or diagnostic programmes are the core of these courses.
Participation is not included in the registration fee. Limited to 60 participants (first come-first-served basis).
If you wish to participate, tickets can be purchased during the registration process as additional session or on-site (if still available) via the self-registration desk for a fee of € 51.

If you would like to withdraw your abstract, contact abstracts(at)ean.org as soon as possible. Withdraw your abstract from the abstract book until 16 March 2022 at the latest. Withdrawal from the online database is possible at all times.
These sessions (IaS) are held live and are open for all participants. Through an interactive voting system via your smart phone, the opinions of colleagues will be collected, displayed and discussed immediately.
The session will give a platform for interactive learning using quiz questions. Two competing teams, a local team and an international team, will try to win the BrainChallenge by giving the correct answer to a case-presentation. The Audience can silently participate via an interactive voting system on the smart phone, the results will be presented after each case.

Registration
If you wish to become an EAN Individual Member and benefit form reduced registration fees, please use the Membership Finder to find out your eligibility.
Submit your complete membership application via your MyEAN user account and await approval of your membership, be aware that this may take up to 10 working/business days. Once approved you can start your congress registration and benefit from the differentiated Member’s registration fees.
Discount codes are only available for individual registrations and NOT for groups.
During the registration you will be asked to enter the billing address. Since the address deviates from your contact information please select alternative billing address and insert the information of the third party.
Please log into you MyEAN account again and click on ‘EAN Events’, click on the tab ‘My Registration’ and select your group. Now please enter contacts’ email addresses and add them as participants to your group.
If persons are not in our database, the button ‘invite’ will be shown next to the textbox. By clicking ‘invite’, an email invitation to create a MyEAN account will be sent out – once the account is created, the group member is considered successfully registered.
Please log into you MyEAN and go to ‘EAN Events’, click on the tab ‘My Registrations’ and select the ticket for Congress 2023. In top right corner you will see the button ‘Do Payment’ – click on the button and select your preferred payment method to complete your registration

To receive the student ticket, you must have an active EAN student membership, otherwise you are charged the non-member fee.
Yes, that the minimum amount for group registrations is 5 people.
Please note, the maximum amount of people to register in one group is 150. If you wish to register more, simply create another separate group.
No, it is not possible to transfer individual registrations
Additional sessions are only available for congress tickets with onsite participation. In case you have selected a ticket with virtual interaction you, there are no sessions shown as there are none for virtual participation only.
The information about your participation status can be seen at you EAN Account. Go to My registration – Group registration – event participation – Status:
If it is blank -> You have a virtual interactive participation.
Otherwise, you will see Pre-print or Onsite which means that you are attending the EAN Congress in Vienna.
For individual participant:
- You will receive a separate email containing a QR code for printing your badge at the Venue.
For Group:
- If your group leader chose Pre-Print, you will get your badge from your group leader
- If your group leader chose onsite, you will receive a separate email containing a QR code for printing your badge at the Venue.
Be aware that some sessions might be taking place at the same time and are therefore
mutually exclusive. In that case, parallel sessions will be greyed out
and cannot be selected.
EBN Exam participants receive special discounts for the EAN Hybrid Congress 2023:
- Participants with an EAN membership (Full Members, Corresponding Members and RRFS) receive a 20% discount
- Other participants will receive a 10% discount
The discount codes will be distributed by EBN administration

You can request cancellation of your congress registration via the MyEAN platform. Please login with your credentials, go to “EAN Events” and click on “Change Request” in the submenu.
Please specify your request and proceed by selecting the corresponding registration. Kindly note that change requests take up to 3 working days to be processed in accordance with the Terms & Conditions
In case you would like to exchange your previously purchased virtual interactive registration for an onsite registration, please contact registration(at)ean.org with indication of your order number (O-R-xxxxxx).
Please note that an onsite registration already includes virtual interactive access and cannot be exchanged for a virtual interactive ticket!
If you are required to request a visa letter, please login into your MyEAN account and go to your event participation (EAN Events - My Registration) and click on the button Request Visa Letter.
The Visa Letter can only be requested once through the MyEAN platform, please make sure that all information is correct!
The option to request a Visa Letter is only provided to registered onsite participants.
Day tickets for the upcoming EAN Congress are available for purchase from beginning of March - solely for host country citizens (e.g. 2023 - Budapest).
